Service Description

About: This 3 week class will teach you how to confidently thread your machine, sew accurately and have a very basic understanding of sewing. This class will start to introduce you to types of fabrics and the equipment you need to sew them confidently. The lessons will be a skill session where you will learn and practice new skills. These lessons are guided lessons where the tutor will demonstrate the skill and you will then practice the task yourself. The experienced and very patient teacher will assist you as needed. Including but not limited to: ❊ Reading patterns and laying them out ❊ Darts, tucks, pleats and gathers ❊ Pockets ❊ Buttons and buttonholes ❊ Facings and finished edges ❊ Zippers Once you complete the three-week skills course you can then join our Sew Together classes and work on creating your own clothes, upcycling clothes and mending those that need some love.
